The foundations of MB Holding, which has pioneered technology and innovation by signing many firsts in the fields of Construction, Medical Textile, Energy, Tourism, Perlite and Greenhouse since its establishment, were laid by MB Holding Honorary President and Civil Engineer Muharrem Balat, who founded Muharrem BALAT Construction Company in 1968 after graduating from Istanbul Technical University.

Muharrem Balat, who has undertaken important projects in contracting and is among the top 10 contractors today, later founded Baltaş Construction in 1987. He has undertaken many overseas projects that would set an example for Turkish companies that had not done contracting work in foreign countries until then. Having completed many University, Hospital, Industrial Site, Mass Housing, Organized Industrial Site, Free Zone, Hydroelectric Power Plant, Indoor Sports Hall, Stadium and Factory Constructions in Turkey and abroad, MB Holding Construction Group today mainly provides services in the field of mass housing and has made more than 30,000 people homeowners since 2002.

MB Holding Construction Group is among the largest contractors of the Prime Ministry Mass Housing Administration (TOKİ), which has undertaken the largest mass housing projects in Turkey. The two projects of Baltaş and Balpa Construction, which have been completed in the Gaziantep region with a total of 2,500 houses, are among TOKİ’s largest projects. MB Holding Construction Group, which is proud of the social impacts of its constructions, takes great pleasure in serving the state and therefore the public. Balpa Construction/Textile, which produces cotton yarn, was established in 1990 to evaluate the potential in the textile sector and to step into a different sector by aiming to diversify investment instruments.

In 1993, in order to produce quality concrete and to popularize the use of ready-mixed concrete, another first was achieved in the Southeastern Region by establishing the first ready-mixed concrete production facility, Balbet Insulated Ready-Mixed Concrete Production Facility in Kahramanmaraş.

Founded in 1997, İnper Perlit is the first and only perlite production facility in the region. İnper Perlit produces perlite, which is used in heat and sound insulation in the construction sector, as a productivity enhancer in the agricultural sector, and has different areas of use in many branches of the industry.

MB Holding, which has made progress in the energy sector as well as in the construction and textile sectors, established Ege Enerji in 1976 in Aydın for the integrated evaluation of geothermal energy and its introduction into the economy. Later, in 1999, Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. (MEGE A.Ş.) was established in Aydın for the purpose of generating electricity from geothermal fluid, environmentally friendly and renewable resources and contributing to the national economy. Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. (MEGE A.Ş.) was actually launched in May 2006 with the start of production of DORA-1, Turkey’s first private geothermal power plant with a capacity of 7.95 MW in Aydın Salavatlı Geothermal Field.

DORA-2, which started production in 2010, with a capacity of 9.5 MWe, was followed by DORA-3, which started operations in 2014 with a capacity of 34 MW. DORA-4, which will start production in 2016, will start production in 2016. In 2014, DORA-3A and DORA-3B power plants, with a capacity of 34 MWe, were successfully put into production, and the foundation of DORA-4, with an installed capacity of 17 MW, was laid. MB Holding, which has a total installed capacity of 74 MW with DORA-4 power plant, which started production in 2016, has broken away from its conventional service approach in the sector and continues its geothermal investments in the country with the aim of sustainable success.

Founded in 2004, 3Teks Medical Textile produces sterile disposable medical covers, gowns and surgical sets as well as non-sterile gowns, covers and cover groups required by modern medicine. 3Teks Medical Textile, which produces non-woven fabrics specifically for medical use, has the TÜV 0197 CE, EN ISO 9001:2000, EN ISO 13485:2003, TÜRKAK, TSEK and TSE certificates that are required for production and sales in Turkey and around the world. 3Teks, which uses the Gamma Sterilization technique, which is superior and more effective than other sterilization methods in the sterilization of products, has once again demonstrated its intention to be a pioneer in its sector by making a first in Turkey in this regard.

In 2008, another MB Holding company, Sultan Greenhouse, was established in Aydın to implement greenhouse projects heated by geothermal resources. In 2010, MB Holding commissioned the DORA-2 Geothermal power plant with a capacity of 9.5 MW, and Sultan Greenhouse, one of Turkey’s most modern greenhouses built on a closed area of ​​41,400 m2 in the field of agriculture and food, became fully operational. In this way, it is aimed to increase the added value of the resource and to benefit from our natural resources more effectively by using geothermal resources in greenhouse heating after electricity production.

In 2012, the foundations of the 8.5 MW DORA-1 and 11.5 MW DORA-2 power plants were laid and construction began on the 34 MW DORA-3A and DORA-3B power plants. In addition, MB Holding received the GAP Oscar award for Holding of the Year from the GAP Journalists Association. Mass housing projects continued with the construction of housing and industrial sites.

BLT Turizm was established in 2013. Within this scope, our company has made an agreement with the Hilton Group and has put the Hampton By Hilton Hotel into service in Gaziantep in 2015. As we share the historical and cultural heritage of our country, the yeast in our soil, the natural resources and beauties we have, we will bring our goals closer. Therefore, MB Holding has supported the promotion of Turkey by investing in the tourism sector and has adopted it as a mission. One of our goals in the tourism sector is thermal hotels heated by geothermal resources. The most important of these projects is to revive the Akharaka Hot Springs.

In 2013, MB Holding continued its energy investments and established the companies BLT Energy and MB Geothermal. BLT Energy will establish the first geothermal power plant in Croatia, the newest member of the European Union and aiming to meet 35% of its electricity needs from renewable sources by 2020. With the project initiated with the principle of protecting wildlife, the environment and human health and using the natural resources provided by nature to humanity efficiently, MB Holding will now operate in the field of energy abroad.

In 2014, DORA-3A and DORA-3B power plants with 34 MW power successfully started production and the foundation of DORA-4 power plant with 17 MW installed capacity was laid. With DORA-4 power plant, which started production in 2016, MB Holding has broken away from the conventional service approach in the sector and continues its geothermal investments in the country with the aim of sustainable success.

In 2017, Perstone, a brand affiliated with İnper Perlit, which provides solutions to the construction sector with the products it produces, was established and perlite-based insulation products began to be produced.

In 2018, the construction of the BLT Ballroom, which was built on an area of ​​650 square meters and has a dinner invitation capacity of 400 people, was completed and put into service of the people of Gaziantep. This hall, which is the new favorite of the people of Gaziantep, has been designed to accommodate all kinds of business and special invitation organizations.

MB Geothermal, Croatia’s first geothermal power plant, started producing electricity in 2019.

MB Holding now operates abroad with the project initiated with the principle of protecting wildlife, the environment and human health and efficiently using the natural resources provided by nature to humanity by establishing the first geothermal power plant in Croatia, which aims to meet 35% of its electrical energy from renewable sources by 2020.

MB Holding, which entered the fast moving consumer goods sector in 2022 to offer quality products to the end consumer, also established the Royal Maine Coon brand, a brand affiliated with İnper Perlit company, with the aim of producing quality products for pets and started to produce premium quality cat litter made of perlite.
